Feedback: loading states, silent failures, and data honesty — the trust fixes

PiNov 3, 2026

Follow-up feedback from re-testing the site as a trader on Nov 2, 2026. The clickable tickers and the Themes date fix are real improvements. These four points are what I would fix next, because they are all about one thing: whether a visitor can trust what the site shows. Framed as what should happen, not just what is broken. 1. Themes needs a loading state. On first load and on reload, Themes briefly shows only headings and empty table headers before the data appears — no spinner, skeleton, or 'Loading...' text. A first-time visitor reads that as an empty or broken page, which is exactly the confusion the site used to have. What should happen: show an unmissable loading indicator while themes load, the same way the Ideas page already shows 'Loading ideas...' on load. The pattern exists on the site; Themes just needs it too. 2. A future Stocks end date should never fail silently. Setting a Stocks end date beyond the latest data session blanks the profile sections with no explanation and no way to load anything — the visitor is left guessing whether the site, the ticker, or their input is at fault. What should happen: show an explicit on-screen note, e.g. 'Data covers 2026-10-26 to 2026-11-02; your end date was clipped to the latest session,' and still load the clipped profile. A visible clip is fine; a silent blank is not. 3. Volume-profile trust is the highest-stakes fix. Two numbers a trader would size off still do not hold up. (a) SOC, Oct 26-30, 2026: edge volume share is exactly 24.3% in Core mode (37.1M volume, 110 bars) and exactly 24.3% in Full RTH mode (49M volume, 130 bars) — the share does not move when the mode changes within the same window, even though it does move across windows. (b) GDYN, same window: the headline period POC is $8.61, but the migration chart's Oct 30 daily POC is $12.71 and its busiest bin is $12.65-$12.77, so $8.61 looks like the first session's POC being shown as the period POC. (The +55.2% close-vs-POC figure is arithmetically
